Thank You!

As always, we are so thankful to our families who have taken part in our Internet Safety Presentation today and Our Feet First Family Day. We appreciate parents who take time out of their busy schedules to continue to support our school community.

Update on Coronavirus COVID-19

This week has been very difficult in terms of the uncertainty of the government response to the virus and working with rumours about school closures.

Nettlefield has issued guidance to families via handout and the school website. Please keep checking these sources for up to date, verified information.

In the meantime, please remind children to wash their hands thoroughly. This must be the case before eating, after coughing or sneezing and after going to the toilet. Children must also be reminded to:

Catch It (Use a Tissue)

Bin It (Dispose Immediately)

Kill It (Wash hands immediately)

If children do not have access to tissues, please remind them to cough or sneeze into the corner of their elbow.

IMPORTANT: As per last night’s guidance, if you have any symptoms of a respiratory illness (coughing, sneezing, runny nose or temperature), please do not come to school. Simply call the school office to inform staff of absence.

Please do not send sick children to school.

Nettlefield’s New Improved Website and App!

Although we live in uncertain times with Coronavirus, one way we can keep families updated is via our new and updated website. Still at the same address but we now have an app that will send push notifications to families.

To install the app, open www.nettlefield.co.uk on your phone or tablet and click the ‘Download App’ button that appears at the top of the screen. The app can also be found on the Appstore under ‘Schools NI.’

Once downloaded, simply navigate to Co. Antrim and find Nettlefield listed under ‘N’

We are always interested in hearing family feedback and are keen to improve the site in the coming weeks and months.

Uniform Changes

At Nettlefield we are incredibly proud of our uniform colours and choices for children. We do not plan to change our uniform colour in any drastic way but are always keen to hear family views. If you would like to have a say in a short survey about our uniform. Please scan this QR code with your camera phone or download a QR reader from your app store.

Staff Development

Please remember Nettlefield will be closed on Monday 16th March for staff training and Tuesday 17th March for St Patrick’s Day. We will reopen on Wednesday 18th March at 8.55am.

As always if there is anything that causes concern or you would like to discuss any aspect of your child’s education, please do not hesitate to contact Mr McLean at the school office.
